You are not alone in your dislike in pubic hair.  Some people don't like the sight of it (or the fact that it hides what they really want to see).  Others don't like long, curly, course hairs that fall out all over the place.  Some don't like the fact that a big bush of pubic hair can trap in sweat and smells.

Many will attest that the lack of pubic hair makes oral sex a much more pleasurable experience for the giver.

One alternative to shaving your pubic hair is to trim it to be very short which solves most of the above problems. A good beard trimmer has adjustable settings so you can experiment with the length you like. (Be very careful with a beard trimmer around very thin skin like the scrotum).

If you decide to go the full-blown shaved route be aware that there is a good chance you will cut/nick yourself as your genitals are not smooth surfaces like legs and faces. Also, be on the lookout for ingrown hairs.  When the pubic hair is growing back from a fully shaved crotch, it can be a bit itchy.

It is best to do the shaving after a hot shower or soaking bath so your coarse pubic hairs have softened up.  You will want to start by trimming the hairs so that you can see what the razor is doing.

Use a new razor so the cutting blade is sharp and clean. You can use whatever shaving cream or gel you prefer but you probably want to avoid menthol or strong smelling ones as they might irritate or sting.

Finish up with a hot/warm washcloth on the genitals to clean and refresh.

Shaving/trimming each other can be a very erotic and sensual experience.  Enjoy!

As a woman, I would actually recommend NOT shaving after the shower or bath as the warmth causes the skin to enlarge due to increased circulation. Yes, warm the hair with a warm washcloth for about 30 seconds or so to soften it, and then use baby oil. It's clear so that you can see where you are shaving, but it also softens the skin to make it easier to shave.

There is also a product called BikiniZone that is specifically made for shaving your pubic area.

To prevent ingrown hairs, I actually shave every other day to keep up with the growth. If I do get an ingrown hair, I use tweezers to "free" it and then shave afterwards.

On a man, trimming back their public hair works well with a beard trimmer. On a woman, we want our "nether regions" to be as smooth as silk.

While a good quality, multi-blade razor with aloe strips can do the trick for a quick fix, you have to be concerned with nicks,
and the meticulous maintenance of a College football field during the fall. The alternative to this is to get a Brazilian bikini wax. Fifteen minutes of a little pain is a small payoff for a full month or more of a satiny smooth love box! :-) Waxing also makes ingrown hairs less possible as the hair is removed at the root (yikes!!) versus shaved off flush with the skin.

Steer clear of depilatory creams - they can irritate your sexy business with their strong chemicals ~ you can end up with some hairs still remaining AND a rash to boot.

Some spas are now offering permanent hair removal, like the diode laser systems, but the cost is crazy high and it takes repeat visits to eliminate all the hair. I know some women who went for round one and never returned even after the up front money due to how painful it was.

If you find yourself a good waxer, it will be your monthly ritual to pop into their salon and not have to worry again for 30 + days! The time you can save in the shower alone (not to mention the contortionist moves to make doubly sure you got every little hair) is well worth it!
